9ct white and rose gold engagement ring with orange garnet

It has long been known about the office, that I have a real deep desire to own this ring.

White and rose gold engagement ring

I have lusted over it since it was first designed by Rebecca Howarth and made by Richard Tunstall; unfortunately there has not quite been an occasion whereby I can persuade my husband to buy it for me. There are so many things I love about this ring.

The stone is so unusual, the vibrancy of the 4mm x5.3mm orange baguette cut garnet is brought to life by the red of the rose gold setting. The unusual garnet is actually a modified baguette cut as it has diagonal facets rather than just straight facets. The photo here doesn't really do complete justice to this stone, but the orange is so rich and warm, I just love it!

This ring is very bold. It is made of white gold with a 10mm flat profile band, it has a chunky look yet with the curved cut outs beside the stone it has a feminine touch. Despite its size, it's so comfortable to wear (yes, I have tried it on, albeit very briefly - and it fits!!!). It's quite deep too, so you really feel that you are getting a lot of metal for your money. As this ring was made about two years ago, it is very competitively priced (I hope my husband is reading this) as the price of metal has shot up so much over the past year and so to remake a ring like this now, would be quite a bit more.

I am not the only person to love orange gemstones and although orange stones are not what you would traditionally imagine as a choice for engagement rings, we have commissioned several over the years: here are a few examples.

White gold and garnet engagement ring

This lovely 9ct white gold twist engagement ring holds a stunning 1.01ct oval cut garnet in an all around setting. The band is a soft D shaped profile showing the oval stone off beautifully.

Orange sapphire engagement ring

This ring a has a vibrant orange sapphire as the center piece. This striking and sparkly 0.64ct sapphire is held in a four claw setting. The band tapers and a 1.5mm princess cut diamond has been set in each shoulder.

Rose gold and sapphire engagement ring

This ring was inspired by Africa sunsets and uses the warmth of the 9ct rose gold and the evocative rich colours of the stones. The central 0.47ct brilliant cut stones have been set into a 9ct white gold four claw setting which enhances its deep rich colour, the graduating side 1.5mm garnet, orange sapphire and yellow sapphire have been channel set into the African design seen on the 4mm wide d shape band.
