Jewellery for Kids

As I have mentioned before, my son Thomas, who is nearly 5, loves arts and crafts. I wanted to recommend a few books that he has really enjoyed. They would also make great presents for a child.

Usbourne make some good books on arts and crafts for pre-school children. There are two that Thomas has particularly enjoyed.

365 Things to Make and Do

This packed full with great ideas and we have dipped in and out of this for the last 2 years - and he enjoyed one of these just the other day. He also likes another one which I can't find on their site but they are similar to these 2 and I think these might be their newer versions of the same thing.

50 Things to Draw and Paint
50 Things to Make and Do

He also loves these cards to do in the car - and may of them involve drawing and the little pack of cards comes with its own pen. I would say this is for age 4 plus (with help) or 5 plus without help.

100 Things for Children to do on a Journey

A friend of mine is home-schooling her kids and recommended a particular author of arts and crafts books to me called Mary Anne F Kohl. I recently bought one of these and it is completely brilliant. The BEST arts and crafts for kids book EVER! It has several great jewellery making projects within it too which are really unusual too. I would say this is for ages about 4 and up perhaps. They link subjects like georgraphy or science into arts and crafts too and are great fun for you as well as the kids.

I have this one,

Global Art - Projects and Inventions

and my sister saw it and quickly bought this one.

Sribble Art - Independent Creative Art Experiences

Do buy one of these if you are at all creative and want to have fun with your kids and I am sure you won't regret it!

See you soon

Harriet
