The 2007 Hertfordshire Business Awards

Hi, me again!

We all had a fanstastic time on Thursday evening at the 2007 Hertfordshire Business Awards. We were shortlisted in the Best Medium Sized Business category (25-250 employees) so 7 of us went along to celebtrate. We are only just big enough to be in this category! It was a great evening and it was fun to meet Bobby Davro and to dance with flame-throwing Russian Dancers too...I think...

The company who pipped us to the post to win the category are a called p and j Storefitters and they have an amazing success story - the Managing Director Neil Dunn was an employee of the business for five years before rescuing it from liquidation. He acquired the share capital of the dying business only a few years ago from its former owner and now they are going from strength to strength - and Neil also won the Business Person of the Year too. So actually, with a story like that, I think they deserved to win and we wish them all the very best.

Christmas 2007 Charity Open Day

Hi,

The open day last Saturday (24th November) went fantastically and we raised over £600 for The Garden House Hospice which is great. The mulled wine and mince pies were bound to go down well, but it was the gemstone talks, jewellery making demonstrations and new Christmas collection from http://purple-label.com/ that went down the best! The day itself saw all of the pieces from our new collection flying off the shelves and also lots of people took the opportunity to bring in some family jewellery to be reworked into a new bespoke piece - and as ever, our designers were on hand to advise. Many many thanks to all of you who came along to support us and the hospice and also a big thank you to all of the team here who worked so hard.
