Platinum 0.72ct E SI1 diamond solitaire engagement ring with open tip design

 

I am someone who absolutely loves sparkle and big beautiful diamonds; this is why this engagement ring is one of my favourite designs that we have in our showroom at the moment.

It is designed by Harriet and the stone weighs 0.72 carats. It is an E SI1 brilliant cut diamond which means it is very high in quality so you get that extra sparkle that I myself look for in a ring! Colour 'E' is just below colour 'D' which is the best colour grade you can buy and therefore this diamond is truly stunning.

I also love the fact this particular setting allows you to see the tip of the diamond from the side view and you are able to see the detail of the cut. This opening allows extra light to pass through the stone also which makes it much brighter and helps the diamond sparkle even more – which for me is a gods send. You don't often see engagement rings that show you the all around view of the stone so it is lovely to see this design. It might look to some as though the ring is too open and it may look as though there is not a lot of metal supporting the stone but in fact the setting is very strong. Our goldsmiths, along with our designers are so clever with things like this as they manage to hide a lot of their secrets within the design to make the ring almost look as though it is impossible to be that delicate and yet it is so robust behind it all.

The stone is set quite high from the band so a simple wedding band would sit perfectly just underneath it and an eternity ring would also fit very comfortably on the other side too.

The platinum band is delicate so the stone is still the main feature of the ring and as the band tapers slightly towards the stone it really draws the eye in to that main focal sparkle.

Grab yourself a bargain bracelet for Christmas!

 

We hand make all of our Purple Label Jewellery in very small runs as we like to keep things a bit special. But this does sometimes mean that we end up with a small number of beautiful gemstone beads left over here and there.

We have recently been threading these up into funky elasticated bracelets and selling them on the counter in our Halls Green branch. We have found that people popping in for their appointments have been snapping them up. They are a bargain at about £12.95 each, and you get a lot for your money as the value of the gemstones often actually exceeds the price of the bracelets. But we prefer to reuse them like this as we think it is an environmentally more sound option than just letting them accumulate and the low prices mean that they sell fast so that we keep the stock moving well.
