Valentine's Day

 

Now that we are already well into January, Valentine's Day is fast approaching. This is a day that will never slip my mind due to my Birthday falling on the day before Valentine's Day!

There seems to be several views on the history of St Valentine. One historical source outlines St Valentine was a priest who began to help lovelorn couples by marrying them in secret after Roman Emperor Claudis II had outlawed marriage. When the authorities found out, Valentine was thrown into jail. Some say that Valentine fell in love with his jailer's daughter and he signed "From your Valentine" in his final note to her.
