As promised here, they are finished and I love them. Well - I know I would say that but I really do - I am so pleased with the finished rings that it is becoming embarrassing. The two rings have very different personalities.
We still think we might be the first in the UK designers to use these diamonds treated with this state of the art technology to achieve this permanent red colour change. We look forward to seeing how well they are received and hopefully making lots more beautiful bespoke jewellery with them in the future. These two actual rings are now (as I type!) just released ready to be sold.
We have just published the images and quotes to the press about them (sorry to "quote" myself below - that's probably very bad form and a bit tacky! But I just want to let you know what we have said to the press!!):
We have set this stunning 1.40cts pear shaped red diamond in platinum and 18ct rose gold. Harriet says "I completely fell in love with this diamond when I saw it. I love the fire and life within it and thought it would look wonderful against the icy blue-white of platinum. I also wanted to bring in the 18ct rose gold which reflects some of the warm tones from the diamond. When you look into a candle flame it splits into different colour areas and this was what inspired this design." The design inspiration is stylized and also takes some reference from Art Deco forms - such that the form works perfectly as it is, and is enhanced further by knowing the source of the inspiration. It would be perfect for a winter proposal or for an amazing dress ring. The red diamond is cradled safely in the slim platinum setting which holds the tip and the base of the pear shape, leaving the sides exposed to allow maximum visibility of this dramatic and unusual diamond.

This beautiful brilliant cut 0.25cts round red diamond has been set very simply in this elegant platinum mount. The 4 claw setting leaves the stone very open to be looked at from all angles. The cool colour of the platinum contrasts beautifully with the fiery stone which flashes with orange, cognac, red and burgundy sparkle. Harriet says "This design reminds me of a glass of red wine on a winter's evening - I just decided to keep this really simple to best set off this lovely unusual diamond."
