Inspired by... a bird's wing

 

People come and see us with all kinds of inspirations that they'd like our help to turn into a beautiful engagement ring - there's an 'inspired by' gallery section of our website which shows everything from waves and starry skies to dragonflies and tulips.

Just to prove we really can work with any inspiration, here's a lovely commission I did a while back for Andrew and Lucy, which was inspired by her love of birds, specifically wood pigeons.

We took the lovely arch of a wood pigeon's wing as our shape around the finger, and nestled a brilliant cut diamond inside, in a low all around setting reminiscent of a bird's eye. The result is a lovely flowing design that is unusual but wears its inspiration lightly.

We all love interesting starting points - it's always an interesting challenge to translate them into a precious object that is practical to wear every day.
