Harriet Kelsall Jewellery Design ~ 18ct yellow and white gold engagement ring with 0.57ct sapphire

This ring was designed to accentuate and capture the unusual rare naturally two coloured sapphire. The sapphire has a diagonal stripe across the center of the oval cut stone. One side of the stone is a rich brown colour and the other side a light green.
The band is made from two colours of 18ct gold. The light green section of the sapphire has been set onto a backdrop of yellow gold and the brown section on the natural dark white gold.
A 2mm brilliant cut green tourmaline has been flush set into the band in contrast to the brown side of the sapphire and a 2mm brilliant cut chocolate cognac diamond has been flush set into the band next to the green side.
The band is approximately 5.5mm wide at the front and 2.7mm wide at the back.

The treatment of the cognac diamond is a special process using state-of-the-art technology to produce this beautiful and permanent colour change. The treatment means that the ring must not be heated up to very high temperatures (eg by a jeweller during resizing of the ring) or cleaned in an ultrasonic cleaner so special care needs to be taken when resizing this ring in the future and the stone must be carefully removed and re-set during any future resizing work.
