18ct white and yellow gold sunrise gold heat-treated diamond engagement and wedding set.
This pair of engagement and wedding rings simply represent the graduation in the sky with a rising sun. The 0.23ct brilliant cut heat-treated gold diamond sits in a 18ct white gold all around setting raised above the edge of the band. Both bands are flat with a depth and width of about 2mm so sit perfectly together with their complimentary colours.
The diamond has got its beautiful gold colour when it was heated at very high temperatures and pressures to achieve this permanent colour change. Naturally occurring diamonds of this colour are very rare and cost many thousands of pounds and so this treatment process brings these coloured diamonds within reach. This also means that the ring must not be heated up to very high temperatures (eg by a jeweller during resizing of the ring) so special care needs to be taken when resizing this ring in the future and the stone must be carefully removed and re-set during any future resizing work
