Bespoke combined engagement and wedding ring incorporating customer's own gold and diamonds.

To celebrate their anniversary Norman and Rita wanted to redesign Rita's old engagement and wedding rings as she was no longer able to wear them and Rita wished for a more practical lower setting for her diamond than her current design allowed. The feel they were after was a more contemporary and practical design which would also include a 4.3mm 0.46ct old cut diamond which had been left to them, along with their original 5.2mm 0.53ct round brilliant cut diamond from their engagement ring. The design chosen allowed for the 22ct yellow gold of the original wedding ring to be melted down with new metal to create one side of the ring shank, and new 9ct white gold to form the other half, giving contrast as well as allowing Rita to wear the ring with other jewellery of either colour metal. To give a sleek modern look to the ring and so the stones are as low as they can be, they have been invisibly set directly into the metal of the wide tapering band. The widest part of the ring measures 6.5mm, tapering to 4.5mm on the other side.
