Platinum and diamond octopus inspired engagement ring.
Graham commissioned this very interesting engagement ring for Caroline, which has been inspired by an octopus. Our chief goldsmith Richard made this very intricate design so that the claws which hold the 3.5mm brilliant cut H SI diamond are in fact four of the octopus’s legs. The rest of the octopus’s body has been carved and cast onto a flat profile ring and sits to one side of the raised diamond in the centre. The remaining legs twist and turn along the band for a really realistic effect. The diamond is set into a textured plate which cleverly makes the diamond look larger and supports the four legs. The main ring is polished and has a flat profile with softened egdes and a delicate 2mm width. Pictures cannot do this ring justice, it truly is incredible and is a fantastic example of what can be achieved by our talented goldsmiths.
