Go through the commission
process together
If you'd like to involve your partner in the design of their ring, we do offer a 'proposal in a box'. It means you have something nice to give them, and you can both enjoy designing your engagement ring.
Proposing before commissioning a bespoke engagement ring can be equally romantic, and does mean you get to discuss the design and arrive at it together which will be fun for both of you, not just one!
If you'd like to present the proposal in a box, it comes in a jewellery box finished with a ribbon. The box includes an appointment card, some information about the designer who you will be working with, and the makers who be making the engagement ring by hand. There's also space inside for you to include your own token if you want to add something that's personal to you and your relationship.
If you prefer to go part of the way yourself, there is also the option of proposing with sketches - you would have a design appointment and your designer would then prepare some sketches for you to present. Again they'd come in a presentation box with information about the makers and so on. That means that your partner can then add their own tweaks to the design.
We do ask for a deposit of £20 + VAT for the presentation box or £80 + VAT for the designer's time if we do sketches, but this is refunded off the final price of the ring. If you decide on a stone then you will have to buy it before you can take it away, but bear in mind our stone prices are below the national average, and you don't pay anything for your design appointment. We'll also provide you with a nice box to offer it in.
Don't forget we can also give you some ideas for the perfect place to go for lunch or stay over if you want to make your proposal and appointment into a whole event. See make a weekend of it for details.
