Own Sourcing

Harriet Kelsall Jeweller Design is always happy to work on commissions where customers want to use their own stones or stones they have sourced themselves. As we are not sourcing the stones ourselves it is crucial that we make sure these stones have come from an ethical source.

We have come across people who do not share our view on this and indeed one prospective customer told us that he did not care if the diamond was ethical or not so long as it was cheap! This is not our view and it does matter to us - we will not work with customer's own stones if there is any chance they are not ethically sourced.

For customers who want to source their stones elsewhere, we require a written guarantee from their supplier that the stone is conflict free

For customers who would like us to re-use stones from existing jewellery, particularly antique jewellery, we are prepared to do this as it is not possible to know one way or the other.
