Design Assistant- St Albans

We have an exciting opportunity to join our St Albans team as a Jewellery Design Assistant

4 happy female professionals on sofa

Are you an aspiring designer ready for your first creative outlet?

If you have completed a design related degree in any subject, and ideally have 1 to 2 years of design, or customer facing experience, then we’d love to hear from you.

Joining our St Albans Studio and Shop is a perfect stepping stone into jewellery design. You will be partnered with a senior designer, follow their lead, and assist them on the whole bespoke process. You will see the inner workings of the bespoke world, which starts with customer consultations, to hand sketching and finally to the goldsmith’s making pieces at the bench, in our North Hertfordshire workshop.

We have the UK’s largest team of qualified bespoke jewellery designers, and our training programme and career progression are second to none. When you join our team, you join our journey- we are proud to invest in talented and dedicated people who bring imagination and excellence in all they do. A background in jewellery is not essential, all training is provided, we are excited by passion and talent for art and design.

This design assistant role is ideal for someone who is practical and a three-dimensional thinker. You will need to be a hard worker with a ‘can-do’ attitude, ready to learn the intricate world of jewellery. As a customer facing role, you will demonstrate our high standards and need to be a confident communicator, conscientious, well presented and motivated by designing beautiful pieces.

At Harriet Kelsall Bespoke Jewellery, we offer a top-quality design service, where our customers’ stories are at the heart. People from all walks of life come to us, to help turn their concept into a reality. With that we have become a leader in bespoke jewellery: nationally and internationally recognised for our work, our exemplary contribution to ethics and our innovative approach to what we do. We were proud to be awarded UK Bespoke Jewellery of the Year and Ethical/Sustainable Jeweller of the Year 2024.

We’re dedicated and united in our love of jewellery and are looking for an enthusiastic, team player to help enhance the wonderful team we already have.

If you’re ready to showcase your design talent, please email your CV and cover letter to [email protected]
