How to Wear Pearls
Abigail Farquhar
Abi's a Jewellery Designer in Cambridge. Her extensive background in fashion, including working abroad, makes for the most inspiring designs.
Abi has been part of our Cambridge team since 2024 after joining Harriet Kelsall Bespoke Jewellery in 2019.
Her long love of arts and textiles expanded with her Fashion Degree at the University of Gloucestershire where she explored pattern and print. Alongside her degree, Abi interned every summer at popular clothing companies, such as Superdry, and bridal boutiques. She also worked as a millinery assistant, designing and making hats for the ladies at race day in Cheltenham.
Abi has experience designing collections at university, for both menswear and womenswear, often involving fascinating textiles. These collections were exhibited in impressive locations including the Birmingham Clothes Show, New Designers and the Wilson Art Gallery, Cheltenham.
Abi discovered her love for jewellery after university. She spent a year working for a Birmingham jeweller before moving to India for three months. In doing this she experienced travel and design in a totally different work culture. Particularly, she interned at a design company ‘Motherland Studios‘ in a co-working space in Kolkata, where she often experimented with jewellery.
After returning to England, and pursuing her bespoke jewellery career path, she joined our team and now enjoys blending together her experience and fascination with printed textiles to inspire her work. Above all, she loves when repeat patterns and organic design styles come to life in a one-of-a-kind piece.
