KNOWING HOW IT’S MADE AND WHERE IT’S FROM
We know that an important part of the pleasure in creating a bespoke piece of jewellery is feeling comfortable with what we do and how we do it, every step of the way. That goes from knowing the provenance of every gemstone, our award-winning commitment to social responsibility and ethics at every point in the business, and our industry leading stance on Fairtrade gold and ethically sourced gemstones.
We also want to share with you the fascinating stages of crafting as your dress jewellery piece goes through the workshop, the Assay Office (for hallmarking), the stone setter, engraver, polishing and so on. So our designers will work on their design desks in front of you, and the goldsmiths’ workshop in our Hertfordshire studio is lovingly referred to as the ‘goldsmith bowl’, with wide viewing windows for customers to watch our amazing craftsmen at work.
If you’re working remotely with us, as many of our customers do, you will be notified of each stage as it happens so you can follow the process online. Should you wish, you’ll even be able to access images of your piece being made in the workshop. If you have any questions about the process as it goes along our designers and goldsmiths will be delighted to chat with you.Next
