Spring 2016 Fashion Trend Forecast

Written by Amy Vinn on 12 November 2015

I spend a lot of time monitoring and researching the current and emerging trends both in Jewellery and in design in general (the two are usually linked in some way). This means that when designing Ready to wear pieces for our cabinets, I know that my designs are current and will appeal to the general market of today. This can be great fun, the trends we are forecasting at the moment are for Spring/Summer 2016 and following on from this year’s feminine rose gold feel, things seem to be taking a very pretty, pastel based flora and fauna inspiration, using beautiful yellows, pale greens and peachy pinks alongside the ever trendy sparkle of diamonds!

Alongside being aware of what is out there in the fine jewellery industry, most of the work we do here at Harriet Kelsall Bespoke Jewellery is commission based, meaning we work closely with our customers to design and make their dream piece, this most often being an engagement ring, but can be anything from a pendant to a tie pin. Engagement rings do follow trends but they are most importantly suited to their wearer. We create rings for couples who may have a shared love of music or who have always dreamt of using their long loved grandmothers’ engagement ring to continue on their family heritage. These designs are ones which last a lifetime and will not change in August next year!

It is fun and interesting to follow trends however it is an honour and a privilege to work closely with people to create something truly unique with meaning that will be loved for a lifetime. Whichever of these you are looking for, pop in and see us, have a look around our current designer collection and sit down with one of us designers to put together your thoughts and ideas with our knowledge and sketching skills to create your very own special piece of jewellery.
