Seeing it on the page - beautiful hand-sketching
The design process is all about refining ideas. You may have seen a series of thumbnail sketches of options or ideas during your consultation. If you choose, we can help you to make sure your final design is 100% perfect by hand-drawing detailed presentation sketches of your preferred option. If you’ve designed the ring for a romantic surprise proposal, or if you’re choosing it together, detailed sketches provide a record of one of the most special decisions in your life!
The use of computers in jewellery design is commonplace, but it’s not suitable for all jewellery and we think carefully before we suggest it in the designing process.
However, you may not be 100% sure of what the finished result of your commission will look like and a 3D render can be a good way to visualise the ring in more detail. So whether or not your bespoke project is made using CAD, we can always create you a CAD render before we start work on manufacturing your bespoke ring or jewellery.
There is a small charge to cover the time it takes to create CAD render, which will be offset against the cost of your commission when you give the go-ahead.
A Word about Hand Sketching
Over the years we have championed bespoke jewellery design as a legitimate and specific form of design with its own particular skill set.
We're very proud that all of our designers are experts in hand sketching and all have design related degrees. In fact we are so passionate about this that we run competitions for students and novices to ensure the next generation of jewellery designers can sketch by hand and not just rely on a computer.
It’s just another part of our commitment to the bespoke experience that we believe makes us stand head and shoulders above others.Next: Making your Ring
