Seminar: The Elusive history of the Medici Pearls

Wednesday 1st November, 2023, 10.30am – 11.30am, Primrose Hill Library.

Are you intrigued by jewellery and history? Have you heard of the mysterious Medici Pearls? Are you curious as to how they became the Hanover pearls of today?

We’re inviting you to journey back in time with us, to piece together details about the elusive Medici Pearls. Ignite your inner historian, as Harriet talks through the many royal acquisitions of the more commonly known 'Hanover Pearls'. Starting in 1530, with Pope Clement VII and Catherine de’ Medici, to Mary Queen of Scots, to Elizabeth I and ultimately our beloved Queen Elizabeth II, these pearls have a profound tale at each historical turn.

With a long period of research gathered by Jane Kelsall through paintings and archives, the presentation will have you revelling in the stories of some of the greatest and most grotesque heads of state.

Join us for the morning in the wonderful Primrose Hill Community Library, where complimentary drinks and nibbles will be provided alongside this free event.

We can’t wait to see you there.

Tickets can be booked via the jewellery seminar link on eventbrite
