Pink is everywhere you look in fashion at the moment. Consequently, the colour is increasingly popular in jewellery too. If a bold pink sapphire isn’t your style, why not look at the option of a more subdued but equally beautiful soft pink. For example, morganite. This stone is becoming more and more popular for engagement rings. As the trend for vintage inspired engagement rings continues, blush coloured gemstones are gaining popularity too, as the two styles go hand in hand.  Quite a few of my recent customers have really taken an interest in the idea of a morganite engagement ring as their partners love the subtle pink colour and the idea of a pretty vintage style ring.

Pink Design Inspiration

Morganite is available in a few different shades of pink . Stronger hues of pink, tend to be the most expensive. However, there are some really beautiful blush coloured tones that look stunning when combined with rose gold. Another combination that works really well in engagement ring designs is pink gemstones and diamonds, also in rose gold.

More about morganite

If you’re considering a morganite engagement ring then perhaps you would like to know a little more about this beautiful stone. Morganite is a pink beryl gemstone, the beryl family of gemstones also includes aquamarine and emerald.  The largest deposits of morganite are found in Brazil and Madagascar, but it can also be found in China, Madagascar, Afghanistan, Russia, Mozambique, Nambia, Zimbabwe and in the USA. It is 7.5 – 8 on the Mohs scale of hardness and is durable enough for everyday wear. This means it’s a good choice so can be used in an engagement ring, although like any gemstone set ring it’s best to take it off  for anything hands on.
