Platinum twist style ring with a pear shaped tanzanite

Simon wanted to surprise Tanya with a ring for her right hand that would be different but compliment her engagement and wedding ring set. He wanted a tanzanite to be the focus. This platinum ring holds a 6mm x 4mm 0.36ct pear shaped tanzanite and graduating channel set side stones(a 1.2mm and a 2mm HSi1 white diamond, a 1.5mm amethyst and a 2mm purple sapphire-all brilliant cut) and a 1.5mm heat treated brilliant cut blue diamond. These heat treated diamonds are heated at very high temperatures and pressures to achieve this permanent colour change. Natural occurring diamonds of this colour are very rare and costs many thousands of pounds and so this treatment process brings these coloured diamonds within reach. This also means that the ring must not be heated up to very high temperatures, for eg by a jeweller during a resize, so special care needs to be taken when resizing this ring in the future and the stones must be carefully removed and re-set during any future resizing work.
