Learn about Sapphire
Sapphire is September’s birthstone. Blue sapphires typically have some inclusions but generally have better clarity than rubies. Although deep colour saturation within a sapphire is normally good, the blue colour comes from titanium, and too much of this in a stone makes it look almost black, which reduces its value - however, sapphire is believed to promote financial rewards! It is common for sapphires to be heat treated to improve their colour and it should be assumed that sapphires we supply have been treated unless we specify otherwise. Find out more....
